At Miwa Music Therapy, I provide tailored music therapy sessions for individuals with special needs, fostering creativity and emotional support in a warm, inviting environment. I understand everyone’s needs are unique. It is in-person, 1: 1 class at home-based studio.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with the regional center?

I am not a direct vendor with the regional center. Parents are responsible for the payment for the tuition. However I have many students working closely with the regional center with a social recreation program as well as Self Determination program, known as SDP.

My child is non-verbal. Is it okay?

Absolutely! If the child has AAC device you can bring it too. Essentially your child and I will work on building trust and a comfortable environment first, being verbal or non-verbal is not important. Music is a language!

How long are the classes?

Normally everyone starts with a 30 min class, then elongates to 45 min and 60 min, depending on the students’ needs and if the schedule allows us to. It is a weekly class,

What is the process for signing up for the class?

Please include details about your situation and your possible time and day. If everything works out, we will have a meet-and-greet session. It is based on time and day availability.

Do you offer weekend classes?

No, I don’t teach on the weekends. My classes are between Monday through Friday. Many after school time ( after 16:00) slots fill up quickly and might be available for a while.
